The camera system consists of four 190° wide-angle cameras mounted on the front, rear, left and right sides of the vehicle. The video system displays a vehicle graphic on the connected monitor screen that can be customized. A video processor combines the captured images into a 360° panoramic view showing the area around the vehicle. The camera system can display the camera images in 2D, 3D or combined. The 2D view shows the camera images in a top view, with each camera image displayed separately. The 3D view shows the camera images as a combined panoramic view or individually in a fish-eye or bird's eye view. The four cameras create a virtual camera that moves around the vehicle depending on the settings made and the trigger signals. The camera system is equipped with a pedestrian detection function in the overlapping areas of the camera images at the corners of the vehicle to support the safety level. The camera system is activated when the vehicle is started. Depending on the settings, individual cameras can be activated by trigger signals, e.g. when using an indicator or engaging reverse gear.
The control unit offers several functions, such as:

• A permanent split screen or a split screen triggered by a control signal
• Automatic full screen mode for the reversing camera as a rear-view mirror function
• Permanent full screen mode for the 360° panorama view
• Videos from the cameras can be stored according to the ring buffer principle and played back within the camera system. When one recording ends, the next recording sequence begins automatically. The duration of the recording sequence can be adjusted. Once the memory is full, the oldest file is automatically overwritten. Videos can be played on a Dometic monitor, an external monitor or via a computer with the SD cards. To play videos on a computer, the SD card cover on the controller must be easily accessible and the computer must support the H.264 video format.
