UV - 12 disinfection unit

UV - 12 disinfection unit

Storage of drinking water leads to contamination within a few days. Bacteria can build up and harm your health. The best countermeasure for this is UV radiation, the effect of which is based on the destruction of genetic information transmission during cell division. As a result, bacteria die.
The REICH UV 12 immersion lamp follows this principle. It consists of an immersion tube encased in special quartz glass and an electronic ballast that controls the power supply. Watertight power connections and compact dimensions allow for use as an immersion lamp in fresh water tanks.
When in operation, the immersion lamp is switched on by the electronic ballast for 15 minutes every 4 hours. This short time is sufficient to disrupt the transmission of genetic information during cell division and in doing so cause bacteria to die. Thanks to its particularly energy-saving mode of operation, the immersion lamp can also be operated using a solar system. The installation of the Reich UV 12 immersion lamp is simple and easy to do yourself.
A hole measuring 20.5 mm in diameter is simply drilled through the tank lid or tank and a screw connection is attached. The supply cable of the immersion lamp is routed through this hole and the immersion lamp itself is lowered down to the bottom of the tank on this cable. The tank lid and the screw connection are then tightened. All that is left is for the supply cable of the immersion lamp and a 12 V supply cable from the on-board power supply to be connected to the ballast – done. The decontamination performance of the REICH UV 12 immersion lamp was tested by the
Hygiene Institute of the University of Heidelberg.

Warning: when using an electric tank level gauge, dry shutdown may not be guaranteed!
